INTRODUCTION TO BASIC LAP COURSE
(Online session)
Course Objectives:
The aim of this course is to provide the participants with the primary knowledge and fundamentals of basic laparoscopic surgery.
1. To familiarize the participants on the different equipments, instruments, room set-up in starting laparoscopic surgery
2. To teach the participants the participants the principle of abdominal access, ergonomics as well as the physiologic effects of pneumoperitoneum
3. To acquaint the participants on the importance of camera handling and electrosurgical unit in laparoscopic surgery
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the workshop, the participants should be able to:
1. Have the opportunity to apply the concepts learned from the course and these principles and fundamentals will serve their guide in starting practice of safe basic laparoscopic surgery
